Wedding photographers in Wicklow can be truly spoiled for some of the most fantastic wedding venues to work at, and Tinakilly House will always be one of our favourites - it always makes us smile when we find out we’ve been booked to work there. Little did we know just how much we were going to enjoy Ruth and Steve’s wedding day, and not only because they were such a lovely couple to work with but because they had a secret to surprise everyone with later in the evening: Eugene Ginty as the Singing Chef had everyone raising the roof.
We had been recommended to Ruth by an acquaintance whose wedding we had shot previously at the K Club; it’s always good to hear we’ve been recommended to others because we really do love our work. Talking to Ruth we knew she had high standards, but also that she wanted to ensure that everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves without being plagued by photographers making a nuisance of themselves, or either of them being kept away from their guests for too long and missing out on the party.
We like to think we get the balance right between being professional and getting the shots we need, and allowing couples plenty of time to enjoy their celebrations. We like to blend in, as much as two photographers can, with a lot of our work being done in the moment when we see something that catches our eye. Most importantly, we pay attention to how couples are doing throughout the day, giving them a rest from us every so often while we concentrate on photographing guests chatting amongst themselves, or asking various couples and groups to have a photograph taken together.
Ruth and Steve were so good with their time that the whole day just flowed, not even a passing Autumn shower could dampen anyone’s spirits. They were so natural together, just knowing how to make each other laugh with moments of silliness and love that it was just a joy to work with them.
