Wendy & Paddy | Balyna House | August 2017

We met Wendy and Paddy a couple of times before their wedding day, both here at the studio in Dublin and at Balyna House, Moyvalley, to walk through the venue with them. We like to meet at venues we haven't shot at before because it gives us an opportunity as wedding photographers to see what locations we might use for photographing the Bride and Groom. we also get to see what the venue is like in terms of light - depending on the time of day and year, how a venue is affected by light can change dramatically. Of course, as soon as we arrived to walk through Balyna with Wendy and Paddy we realised that we'd shot there before, it was where a couple of our friends had been married years previously and we knew immediately it would be a great venue because we had a great time there with them

Wendy and Paddy are the most down to earth couple you could hope to meet, really open and good fun to be around - it's easy to see how much they enjoy each others company and how natural it is for them to make each other laugh. It was lovely to see the wedding day gifts Paddy had put together for Wendy and her reaction when she started to go through them one by one, but it's when they're together they really come alive and set each other off beautifully.
