We had such a fun day with Aoibheann and Kieran on their Wedding Day that it made everything go far too quickly, just as well we have some photographs to remember it all. Two more relaxed and easy going people you couldn't hope to meet, it just doesn't feel like work at all when a couple give you so much time and energy to capture their Wedding Day.
The day began at The Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip, with Gillian photographing Aoibheann's preparations, while I went to Kieran - it's handy when there's two of us shooting. From there we drove into Dublin, to St Kevin's church, where the ceremony took place as part of a Latin Mass.
The weather didn't behave, so we did group shots of the guests within the church - we figured by the time we got back to the hotel it would be getting dark, and the weather might not clear. Having those shot gave us some leeway, and by the time we got back to Leixlip we found the weather had cleared which allowed us to carry on working with Aoibheann & Kieran for another hour or so.
The Court Yard Hotel, Leixlip, County Kildare, is right on the banks of the river Liffey, about 10 minutes from the Liffey valley junction on the M50. Leixlip is a great location to get have a reception if you want to get out of Dublin, but still be close enough to get home with minimal driving time.
The staff at the Cout Yard Hotel looked after everyone so well, and I have to say that they knocked it out of the park with the location they'd arranged for our evening session of wedding photography.
We had an absolute blast on fabulous grounds and, as well as Aoibheaan & Kieran, all the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen were as patient and enthusiastic as you would wish them to be.
St Kevin's Church, on Harrington Street, Dublin, certainly doesn't lack for size or scale. It is home to Dublin's Latin Mass Chaplaincy. It has wonderful stained glass features, a magnificent Chancel and an aisle any Bride would look forward to walking down.
